Notre Dame
A nice illustration of Notre-Dame de Paris. I hope I can use it some day.

This past week my 2nd edition of Treasure Island finally reached the 1st page in the search results and sales took off.
So celebrating with a picture of a hummingbird that reminds me of my grandmother\’s house.
I have nothing much to add. It’s a seahorse. I thought the illustration was interesting.
I’d like to put together books with pages like this for ebooks/kindle, but for pretty much all the formats available now, it isn’t possible. Sometimes with the advance of technology, we actually lose wonderful things. Even with paper books, with the software I am using this would VERY difficult to do. In one area the image is a background, and in another area the image is a background and then the text wraps around another part of the image.
One of the images I\’ll be using for the War of the Worlds book. Drawn by Henrique Alvim Corrêa for a 1906 French edition of the book. 32 of the original drawing went up for auction 2 years ago. I wish I could have purchased one, but they sold for FAR more than I can afford. Over half a million dollars for the group!
My step-father is colorizing pictures used in my Treasure Island book. Two he colored were used for the cover images. I think he did a great job! What do you think? We hope to eventually put out a version of the book full of colorized illustrations.
Work continues on several different books. A friend is helping me check the text for a Japanese version of Treasure Island.( 宝島). I’m working on the 1818 version of Frankenstein, but I’m having trouble finding images I can use for it. I’m also working on H. G. Well’s book The War of the Worlds. Thinking of a large-print edition of Treasure Island.
Some day I’ll also put out ebook or Kindle versions.
Ran across this and thought it was pretty funny. This girl must REALLY love to eat honey!
